AimBrain Welcomes Q4 With New Name Clients & Partners, Developer Dashboard Success and AI Research Recognition

Award-winning biometric authentication company accelerates growth through its 1,000 free monthly API calls model, and adds AimFace//LipSync to list of modules available

AimBrain, the Biometric Identity as-a-Service platform, welcomed in the fourth quarter of 2018 with new name clients including blockchain-based financial app Babb and secure payments app, Shieldpay, as well as new partners including ForgeRock, which it announced earlier this month. It also celebrated significant adoption of its self-service biometric API dashboard AimBrain On Demand, and recognition for its ongoing contribution to the machine learning and biometrics communities.

Babb and Shieldpay are just two of the company’s latest clients, which also includes a neo bank and wealth management company; furthermore, AimBrain has a finance heavyweight and a global tech company at the final pilot stage. Babb and Shieldpay are known for being innovative forces in financial services, both using technology in a different way as their primary differentiator.

Babb, a fellow L39 company, disrupts through technology, with a banking app based on blockchain to support peer-to-peer banking for the global microeconomy, and a proprietary cryptocurrency built to stimulate global payments and financial inclusion. It is looking to biometrics to enhance security and the user experience across multiple use cases.

Shieldpay protects individuals and businesses against payment fraud by enabling the creation of an instant digital escrow facility with no set-up costs. This protects both buyer and seller in any transaction by verifying the identity of both sides. Money is held securely in the Shieldpay vault – the escrow facility – and only released when both parties agree. AimBrain’s AimFace//LipSync will form part of the user authentication process, for additional verification at the payments and release of funds stages.

Developer teams are taking advantage of the free monthly 1,000 API calls to test the biometric integration and go straight to production in an autonomous environment, and we’ve recently extended the free calls to include AimFace//LipSync, our first-to-market combined facial, audio and lip movement biometric authentication module launched in April.”

Finally, expertise within the company itself has been recognised. Several of AimBrain’s Machine Learning engineers, led by Head of Machine Learning, Stathis Vafeias PhD, presented their research on ‘Learning Conditioned Graph Structures for Interpretable Visual Question Answering’ at the seminal Neural Information Processing Systems (NIPS) 2018 conference – the code for the paper can be found here. Meanwhile, AimBrain CTO Alesis Novik is contributing his expertise to The Law Society’s Public Policy Commission on Algorithms in the Justice System, and AimBrain is working with the Emerging Payments Association on a forthcoming whitepaper on Financial Crime.
